Partnerships

By partnering and collaborating with other organizations we benefit from their unique expertise.

Business + Higher Education Roundtable

Launched by the Business Council in 2015, the Business + Higher Education Roundtable (BHER) is a non-partisan, not-for-profit organization bringing together Canada’s largest companies and leading post-secondary institutions. Since 2015, BHER has worked to harness the strengths of Canada’s business and post-secondary education sectors to build opportunities for young Canadians, boost innovation and drive collaboration.

Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange

In 2016, the Council helped establish the Canadian Cyber Threat Exchange (CCTX) as Canada’s first private sector hub for cyber security threat information sharing and analysis. CCTX has since emerged as a crucial element in Canada’s cyber security network by uniting key players in Canada’s critical infrastructure sector and by establishing a formal partnership with the new Canadian Centre for Cyber Security.

Canadian Gender and Good Governance Alliance

The Business Council of Canada is a founding partner of the Canadian Gender and Good Governance Alliance, a coalition of not-for-profit organizations focused on research, advocacy and education in the areas of governance and gender diversity. The Alliance aims to amplify and coordinate efforts to achieve gender balance on boards, in executive positions, and throughout Canadian organizations.

Community of Leaders Innovating for Corporations

The C.L.I.C. Challenge matches CEOs from leading companies with pioneering Canadian based start-ups that offer promising technological solutions in their industries. It was set up by a boutique innovation agency, Alter’Inno, with the support of BDC Capital and the Business Council of Canada.

Palette Skills

The Business Council is a founding member of Palette Skills, which is a national nonprofit that helps organizations access untapped labour markets and create pathways to career growth through demand-driven, industry-led accelerated skilling programs. Job placement is its number one metric.

The POST Promise

The Council is a founding sponsor of the “POST Promise”, a business-led public education campaign that allows companies to demonstrate their commitment to keeping customers and employees safe while we continue to live with COVID-19.  It calls on business owners and managers across the country to uphold five key steps to help stop the spread of infection: maintaining physical distance, washing and sanitizing hands, keeping workplaces clean and disinfected, staying home if unwell, and practicing respiratory etiquette, including wearing a mask when recommended.

30% Club Canada

The Business Council is a strong supporter of the 30% Club Canada, which promotes meaningful, sustainable gender-balanced leadership in Canadian companies. Its goal is to see women hold 30 per cent of board seats and C-Suite positions by 2022. Goldy Hyder, the Business Council’s President and CEO, is a member of its Advisory Committee.
